Mark Alford is a successful entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience as a founder of companies in healthcare and technology sectors. He divested his first internet company for a seven-figure valuation at the age of 29. Subsequent to this, Mr. Alford continued his entrepreneurial endeavors and went on to establish enterprises in digital health, DME, pharmacy and telemedicine. Utilizing his marketing, sales, operations and leadership expertise he has served as a consultant for Sony and other Fortune 500 companies, including Google.
As Director and Strategic Advisor at Harbor Healthcare Consultants he spearheads all aspects of business development, building relationships and conducting meetings with owners and shareholders of firms valued from $1.5 Million to $100 Million and beyond. His excitement and dedication to the successful closing of his engagements is realized in the advanced marketing, discovery and perceptive negotiation of every transaction he leads. His advisory experience includes successfully negotiating over 60 transactions from inception to successful close. Every client is treated as if their transaction were his own, keeping myriad deal points in focus at all times while anticipating the next step on the way to a successful close. He is consistently able to achieve an increase in the valuation of his client’s businesses during negotiations (up to 45%) while decreasing risk and exposure.
During his tenure as an entrepreneur, he learned to consistently adapt to dynamic markets and maintain a lead in front of economic impulses. He has been in the trenches and knows the challenges business owners face, every day. He seeks to use the knowledge gained from his own experiences to prevent his clients from making similar mistakes.
Mr. Alford’s prior expertise specializing in advisory, financing, seed capital and M&A services equip him to work with owners and founders in the constantly evolving landscape of the healthcare sector. Mr. Alford graduated with honors from the University of Utah, holds a B.S. in engineering and has also studied finance, strategy and negotiation at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
